Google includes Gemini in its Workspace business plans rather than selling it as a separate add-on. For a business already on Gmail and Google Docs, that makes it the lowest-friction start in this guide1.

Best for: Businesses on Google Workspace that want AI in Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Meet as part of the plan they already pay for.

Not the right fit for: Microsoft 365 businesses, or teams that need AI to act on records outside Google’s apps.

What Gemini in Workspace does

Every business plan includes the Gemini app and Gemini in Gmail. From Business Standard, Gemini also works in Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Chat and Drive. NotebookLM is included, with more Audio Overviews a day from Standard, and Workspace Studio is listed for automating work with AI agents. Business plans are capped at 300 users1.

On the page we read, prices were in euros on a one-year commitment: Business Starter €6.80, Standard €13.60 and Plus €21.10 a user a month, with introductory discounts from 22 November 20261.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • AI is part of the Workspace subscription rather than a separate add-on.
  • Covers mail, documents, spreadsheets and meetings for every user on Standard and above.
  • Workspace Studio lets teams automate work with AI agents.

Limits

  • Business Starter excludes Gemini in Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Chat and Drive.
  • Business plans are capped at 300 users.
  • Prices on the page we read were in euros with a one-year commitment; flexible prices were not shown.

Choose another option if: Your business runs on Microsoft 365 (Copilot Business), or the work to automate sits outside Google’s apps (OpenLazarus or Zapier).

Pricing

Published (EUR per user a month, one-year commitment): Business Starter €6.80, Standard €13.60, Plus €21.10; introductory discounts from 22 November 2026.

Questions to ask Google or a reseller

  • Which of our users need Gemini in Docs and Sheets, and so Business Standard rather than Starter?
  • What can Workspace Studio agents do with our mail and files, and who approves their actions?
  • What are the flexible, month-to-month prices in our currency?
